Land Projects
In Gran Canaria there is a variety of terrestrial microclimates that can be a basis for the realisation of a variety of projects Gran Canaria has diverse climates such as laurel forests, ravines, deserts, etc. due to the influence of the trade winds that form a multitude of those microclimates.

Laurisilva
You can choose to have your EPQ related to the "Laurisilva" (laurel forest), a relict forest from the Cretaceous period.
Many of the species are unique in the world and some of them are endangered.
The Laurisilva has a large number of tree and shrub species endemic to the island and the Canary Islands.

Deserts
Also you can make a research in desert zones on the south of the island.
In these areas we can find desert habitats with less than 110 mm of annual rainfall where the flora and fauna are adapted to survive in this type of microclimate.
The adaptations of the different species help to understand the evolutionary mechanisms, especially of the Canarian flora.
